Sizing & Specifications

How do I size a linear slot diffuser or grille for my space?

Sizing depends on the required airflow (CFM/L/s), duct opening dimensions, and throw distance. As a general rule, match the neck size of the diffuser to your duct collar and select a face size that suits the ceiling or wall opening. Refer to the product data sheet for each model's airflow performance tables, or contact our team for a project-specific recommendation.

What is the difference between face size and neck size?

The neck size is the part of the vent or panel that is inserted into the wall ceiling opening. The face size is the visible dimension of the vent or panel once installed. Always specify both when ordering to ensure a proper fit.

Do you offer custom sizes?

Yes. Many of our access panels, linear slot diffusers and architectural grilles are available in custom lengths and widths. Lead times for custom sizes are typically longer than standard stock items — please contact us with your project requirements for a quote.

Where can I find product drawings and specifications?

Submittal drawings, CAD files, and specification sheets are available on the Downloads page. If a specific document is not listed, contact us and we will provide it.

Materials & Certifications

What materials are your grilles and diffusers made from?

Our grilles and diffusers are manufactured from ABS plastic, extruded aluminum and steel, depending on the product line. Finish options include mill, white, and custom powder coat colours. Please refer to individual product pages for material details.

Are your access panels fire-rated?

Select access panel models carry ULC (Underwriters Laboratories of Canada) fire ratings. The applicable rating (e.g., 1-hour, 1.5-hour) is listed on each product page. Always confirm the required rating with your local building code and authority having jurisdiction before specifying.

Are your ventilation fans certified?

Applicable fan models carry UL, ETL, and/or HVI certifications as noted on their respective product pages. Certification marks confirm compliance with relevant safety and performance standards for the Canadian and US markets.

Are your products suitable for both Canadian and US projects?

Yes. Our product line is designed to meet the requirements of both Canadian and US commercial and residential construction standards. Contact us if you need documentation for a specific jurisdiction.

Installation

Do your products come with installation instructions?

Yes. Installation guides are included with the product and are also available on the Downloads page. For complex or large-scale installations, we recommend engaging a qualified HVAC contractor.

Can linear slot diffusers be installed in drywall ceilings?

Yes. Our slot diffusers are designed for installation in drywall, plaster, and T-bar grid ceilings. Specific mounting hardware requirements are outlined in the product installation guide. Ensure the plenum or duct connection is properly sealed to prevent air leakage.

What tools are required for installation?

Most grilles and diffusers require standard hand tools (screwdrivers, drill). Access panels may require additional framing depending on the wall or ceiling construction. Refer to the installation guide for the specific product.

Who should I contact if I have a technical installation question?

Our technical team is available to assist with project-specific installation questions. Reach us through the Contact Us page.
